Lefkada
This Ionian island, which lies between Corfu and Kefalonia, is known for its awarded beaches (Porto Katsiki, Mylos, Kathisma), Skorpios private island of Onassis and the art festivals. Despite its small ground, Lefkada had an important spiritual and historic presence. Many locals have risen in art, literature and sciences. Our "national" poets Valaoritis and Sikelianos, were born, lived and worked in Lefkada. The poet Lefkadios Hern, born in Lefkada, became the "national poet" of Japan!

Lefkada is a beautiful island with unique beauties. An easily to access place, as it is only a 4-hour drive from Athens (the connection with the mainland is through a floating bridge). The island can be seen even before you reach the bridge that connects Lefkada and Akarnania. It seems like Lefkada leans on the edge of Akarnania. Right by the bridge is the famous castle (a Frankish construction).
This castle was built around 1300 and had an important role at our national and cultural history. Mostly known as the castle of Agia Mavra, the castle lies at the north part of the island, built like a small islet at the edge of a lagoon. This lagoon, which is protected by the "Ramsar Convention", is a sanctuary for rare species of birds. It is also protected by the Ministry of Civilisation. The castle is only 1 km far from the city. The whole Lefkada Town is an artistic monument. The narrow paths with the old wooden houses create pictures of past eras.

Besides the emerald waters and beautiful beaches, Lefkada is also proud for the Monastery of Kira Faneromeni. This monastery is built in a privileged location, protects the whole island and provides information about the first years of Christianity.

The Mediterranean climate, the mild weather conditions and the easy access to the island, have made Lefkada the ideal destination for summer holidays.

Nikiana
As you leave Lefkada Town and head eastwards, after the picturesque fish village of Ligia, you will enjoy the tranquility of the sea and the imposing presence of the green. Beautiful and impressive landscapes and a sinuous road that passes through the rocks.

At your left hand, small and beautiful beaches, while at your right one, small and family businesses that offer a warm and hospitable accommodation.
As you follow this road with the many turns and alterations of scenery, you will see the sign Nikiana (8 km from Lefkada Town & 8 km from Nydri). You can swim at the tranquil blue sea and then relax sunbathing at the beach. Our accommodation, Villa Katopodi,is on the main road that connects Lefkada to Nydri, only 10 m. from Limni beach.

This beach is ideal for small children as it has shallow waters (40 m. in length), where they can play safely. The small port of Nikiana is only 100 meters from our apartments.

Nikiana is a verdurous place with age-long olive trees. Many tourists choose Nikiana for their stay, as it offers many entertainment, swimming and accommodation options. Here in Nikiana visitors can find a bakery, super market, butchery and cafés. 100 meters from Villa Katopodi, is the picturesque harbour with the traditional taverns by the sea.

Some of our apartments such as Levanda, Althea and Irida, offer magnificent view to the sea, while others (Ntalia, Ortensia and Iasmi) mountain view. Our spaces are warm, hospitable and cosy, creating the ideal atmosphere for relaxation.
If some of you wish to have a more cosmopolitan stay, Nidri and the island’s capital have many restaurants, bars and clubs. Both of them are only 8 km from Nikiana.
